In the 1990s, you could find closeup celebrity photos, but since digital photography became so popular, we now have access to much more closeup pix that are great for showing celeb makeup looks.

This sweet closeup picture of Sarah Michelle Gellar shows her cute formal cosmetics styling. She is wearing perfectly applied pretty pink lipstick with gloss, eyeliner, and subtle eye shimmer/shadow.

Notice how the mascara on her lower eyelashes is very light.

If you want makeup similar to this for prom, you might like to keep the very pretty lipcolor, but try more silver for eyeshadow. The look above is a little flat or muted around the eyes.

It would also be nice to add darker color to the eyebrows for definition and contrast. Since the lipstick isn't in a "power color," you could play up the eyes more.
